History

Joint Stock Company "Dniepropetrovsk Tube Works" is one of the oldest enterprises of the Ukraine ferrous metallurgy industrial complex.
The Franco-Belgium Joint Stock Company "Shoduar" of the Russian Tube Rolling Mills had founded the Works. The first brick of the Works foundation was put to the first pipe shop at the 6 of September, 1889. This date is considered as the date of the enterprise foundation.
Until 1917 year the Works has been consisted of the fours industrial shops such as:
  • furnance Welding Tubes;
  • an open-hearth furnance with 4 small furnances;
  • sheet-rolling with 3 mills (one of them - universal which was used for rolling of tight bar and sheet-rolling mills (rough and final));
  • mannesman with Fassel's Mill for rolling seamless tubes (1911).
The maximum output of the goods was in 1913. The Mill has produced 23 108 ton of pipes. That time 3 Russian Mills had made 67 000 ton.
From 1918 till 1920 the Mill did not work. The new birth of the Mill connected with the period of industrialization. In Autumn, 1921, the Mill one of the first in Ekaterinoslav had put into operation consisting of "Dniepropetrovsk united plants": blast-furnace October revolution by the name of Petrovsky and tube-rolling mill by the name of Lenin and South Metallic Trust Southsteel " USSR.
From the first of January 1993 the Mill had become independent. The tube-rolling works was the first that had assimilated the new technology production of many kinds of pipes from the high alloyed steels, profile pipes, pipes' products such as containers, hollow axles, fittings and others.
The works was granted by the Order of Lenin for the successful fulfilment of the government tasks during the years of the first five-year plan in 1939.
During the Second World War the staff of the Mill had underdone many severe trails and was able to guarantee the third birth of the Mill and put into operation new shops:
  • electrically welded shop in 1947-1949
  • tube drawing shop in 1966
  • bimetallic tube shop in 1983.
In the metallurgical branch of this period the Mill was known as upholder of new ideas and progressive technologies, the creator of high production current lines and finishing pipes and was known as one of the largest industrial enterprises produced the pipes of compound assortment.
In 1987 was the highest level of the pipes production - 700 000 ton.
In January 1988 working-people of the Mill were the first who had taken their works on lease from the Ministry of ferrous metallurgy.
In December 1991 works common referendum took place. The working-people decided to take their Mill into collective property at that referendum. In August, 26,1993 the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers ¹628 took the solution that the Mill was able to take into collective property.
At the 9 of November, 1993 "Dniepropetrovsk Tube Rolling Mill by the name of Lenin" had received the official certificate of the State joint society registration.
Nowadays the Mill produces more than 3 000 sizes of seamless and It was developed the production of new kinds and types of sizes of the product with the purchase of getting the new orders for the loading of equipment:
The quality of the Works' goods corresponds to the State and International standards (DSTU,GOST) technical conditions (TU), foreign standards (DIM, ASTM, API, UNI) and European norms (EN) what permit Works to be active participant in the World Market. Besides the internal market the enterprise delivers the goods to all countries of the UIS, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, East and West Europe, Asia, Northern and Southern America.
